American actor Tom Hanks said on Twitter on Wednesday that he and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, tested positive for coronavirus in Australia, where he is currently working on a feature film.
Tom Hanks said the couple had a coronavirus test after feeling tired and feverish.
He made the announcement, adding that he wanted to be transparent, adding that he and his wife would remain in solitary confinement and observation for as long as necessary.
According to the New York Times, the actor is in Australia to shoot a film about the life of singer Elvis Presley, whose manager he must play on screen. It is not known at the moment whether the shooting will be postponed.
Tom Hanks, Oscar winner for his performances in “Philadelphia” and “Forrest Gump”, wrote on Twitter that he was addressing the situation day-to-day and that the couple “will keep the world informed and up to date”.
