Samson Siasia: FIFA hands Nigerian coach life ban for taking bribe

Samson Siasia will not be able to coach any team for the rest of his coaching career – The former Super Eagles midfielder has been slammed with life ban by FIFA – Siasia led the national U23 team to win bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Former Nigerian national U23 coach Samson Siasia has been banned for life by the world football governing body for taking bribe from players.

The former Super Eagles midfielder led the Dream Team to win bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. Siasia was said to have broken FIFA codes of ethics after accepting to receive gratification in ‘relation to the manipulation of matches’. FIFA, in the statement released on Friday, August 16, 2019 revealed that the body started investigations into the activities of the 51-year-old in February.
