Cristiano Ronaldo has the chance to catch Robbie Keane’s record 23 goals in Euro qualifiers against Lithuania on Tuesday.
And the Juventus superstar has been urged to set a new scoring standard in Serie A by Maurizio Sarri this season.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward scored his 21st goal for Portugal against Serbia at the weekend.
And a hat-trick against Group B bottom side Lithuania will see him overtake the Republic of Ireland legend.
“He’s closing in,” Keane posted on Instagram . “Don’t you think you have enough records, Cristiano?”
Ronaldo, who has scored 89 goals for Portugal, opened his Serie A account this season with a goal against Sarri’s former club Napoli before the international break.
